The . 300 Blackout was developed to satisfy a need for a more powerful, more versatile cartridge that would fit in the AR15 platform. The Soviet 7.62×39 cartridge was close to what designers had in mind, but it had some problems.

Is 7.62 x39 the Same as 300 Blackout?

• No! The two cartridges are completely different and are not interchangeable. You should never fire a round that your rifle is not chambered for, as doing so can cause a catastrophic failure that could damage your firearm and yourself.

300 BLK allows a user to have one firearm with the capability of switching between subsonic, supersonic VMAX or barrier penetrating ammunition all with just the change of a magazine.
