Gas Impingement

Direct impingement is a type of gas operation for a firearm that utilizes gas from a fired cartridge to impart force on the bolt carrier or slide assembly to cycle the action. The main disadvantage of direct impingement is that the breech of the firing mechanism becomes fouled more quickly compared to long or short stroke piston systems. This is caused by the operating mechanism's direct exposure to gases from burned cartridge propellant when the firearm cycles. The gases contain vaporized metals, carbon, and impurities in a gaseous state until they condense on the relatively cooler operating parts. These deposits increase friction on the bolt's camming system, leading to malfunctions. Frequent and thorough cleaning is required to ensure reliability. The amount of fouling depends upon the rifle's design as well as the type of propellant powder used. Another disadvantage of direct impingement is that combustion gases heat the bolt and bolt carrier as the firearm operates. This heating causes lubricant to be "burned off". Lack of proper lubrication is the most common cause of weapon malfunctions. These combined factors reduce service life of these parts, reliability, and mean time between failures Main issues: 1-carbon buildup in the bolt carrier and upper receiver 2- Excessive heat ( upper receiver, bolt carrier ) faster wearing of parts. 3- constant cleaning and lubing 4- dissasably and assembly of the bolt carrier, carbon buildup inside the gas tube , clogging, malfunctions, double feeding, and failures.

Gas Piston Technology

Gas piston technology was first used in modern firearms by Mikhail Kalashnikov on the AK-47. While similar at first blush to direct impingement systems, there are a few key differences in operation. The firing process again begins with propellant gases being bled into the barrel. However, instead of being forced into a tube as it is in a direct impingement system, it is contained in a separate cylinder. This cylinder contains a piston(similar in operation to what you may find in an AK-47). The gas moves the piston, is in turn pushes the bolt carrier rearward to handle the extraction and ejection process, and then is moved pushed forward to the closed position by a spring just as with direct impingement. The action of a piston rifle remains cool and clean, even after shooting 100 rounds in rapid succession. The bolt carrier can be removed immediately and held in your hand without burning yourself. The trade off for the action staying cool and clean is that you will experience snappier recoil when shooting which makes the piston rifle a little less accurate, especially for follow up shots. Finally, piston system parts are not interchangeable between manufacturers due to there being no set standard and the use of proprietary pistons and bolt carriers. Advantages: 1- Cooler running system 2- Never loose lube from excessive heat 3- No gas rings needed for compression 4- No gas tube 5- Easy to clean less carbon buildup 6- Bolt carrier can be handled after hundreds of rounds fired 7- Can be shot under water

Why Givati Firearms Piston System?

Our Patent Pending design
Givati Firearms short stroke piston system is superb. We have spent 4 years in development, with hundreds of trials to perfect the system, we have managed to engineer a flawless system that could be used in adverse conditions. When we have designed Givati rifle we took a look at our competition and learned their flaws and we have adapted all the knowledge into one system that we are proud of. We have tested our rifle against HK, sig Sauer, Lmt , Lwrc, and many more international name brands. We have concluded that our rifle runs smoother (increasing accuracy) with minimal running parts. it is built with superior metals, proper heat treatment and the right coating, to prevent rust and increase lubricity.

IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE ???

Double tap test , 30 yards away.
Testing 123 We have conducted a double tap test , what that means when you shoot 2 rounds back to back , depend how the rifle behave and recoils the follow up shot is measure bu how close to each other they are, in this case we have took the shots and conclusion is: We shot 12 shots and the double shot groups are divided into 5 group shots marked in the photo, on the side of the photo there is a measuring tape, we have measure 1/4 inch from center to center. We have done it, we will include the video to prove the test is not a fake.
